Terms and Conditions

Welcome to The School of Six Strings. By enrolling in lessons with The School of Six Strings, you ("the student" or "you") acknowledge and agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before proceeding with our services.

1. Agreement to Terms

By enrolling in lessons with The School of Six Strings, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in this agreement. These terms apply to all lesson packages and services provided by us.

2. Lessons

  • Scheduling: Lesson packages can be redeemed weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or on an ad-hoc basis, as agreed upon with your teacher.

  • Teacher Assignment: Lessons will be conducted by your assigned teacher. Any changes in teacher assignment will be communicated in advance.

3. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

  • Cancellation: Lessons must be canceled at least 7 hours in advance. Lessons canceled with less than 7 hours' notice are non-refundable.

  • Rescheduling: Lessons can be rescheduled with sufficient notice. If the teacher needs to reschedule and you cannot accommodate the new time, you will not be charged for the lesson.

4. Unauthorized Absences and No-Shows

  • No-Shows: Unauthorized absences and no-shows will be charged at the regular lesson rate.

  • Repeated Absences: Repeated no-shows may result in the termination of your lessons.

5. Holiday Lessons

  • Lesson Continuity: Lessons will continue during holidays unless you provide advance notice of your absence or if your teacher is unavailable.

  • Holiday Notification: Please inform your teacher in advance if you plan to take a break during holidays.

6. Refund Policy

  • First Lesson Package: You are eligible for a refund of remaining credits in your first lesson package if you decide the lessons aren’t working for you.

  • Subsequent Packages: All subsequent lesson package purchases after the initial package are non-refundable.

7. Payment Methods

  • Accepted Payments: All lessons must be paid for via bank transfer or Stripe.

  • Payment Terms: Payments are due in advance of the lessons.

8. Pricing Review

  • Annual Review: Pricing will be reviewed annually. You will be notified of any changes in advance.

  • Price Changes: Any changes in pricing will not affect the current package but will apply to future purchases.

9. Lesson Recordings

  • Consent to Record: You consent to your lessons being recorded.

  • Storage and Access: Recordings will be securely stored for 3 months and will be accessible to you for practice and review. Recordings will not be shared with anyone outside The School of Six Strings.

10. Video Permission

  • Performance Videos: Occasionally, we may ask parents for permission to share performance videos of their child on our social media channels. This is optional, and we will always request your consent beforehand.

11. Your Portal

  • TeachWorks Portal: All information related to your lessons, including payments, remaining lessons, and lesson recordings, will be stored in your TeachWorks portal.

  • Account Setup: You will receive an invitation to set up your TeachWorks account upon enrollment.

12. Data Protection and Privacy Policy

  • Data Use: Your personal data is protected and will only be used to deliver our services.

  • Third-Party Sharing: Data may be shared with service providers such as TeachWorks and LessonSpace for the purpose of service delivery.

  • Privacy Policy: Our Privacy Policy ensures that your personal information is used solely for delivering services and billing purposes.

  • Communication: We may use your email address for administrative and promotional communications, which you can control or unsubscribe from at any time.

13. Package Renewal

  • First Package: After your first package ends, you will be notified and asked if you would like to continue with further lessons.

  • Automatic Renewal: After your second package, invoices for subsequent packages will be issued automatically until you notify us that you wish to stop lessons.

14. Termination

  • Termination Rights: The School of Six Strings reserves the right to terminate your account, subscription, and/or access to lessons at any time due to a breach of terms or non-payment.

  • Student-Initiated Termination: You may terminate your lessons at any time by providing notice to your teacher. Refunds are subject to our refund policy outlined above.

15. Changes to Terms and Conditions

The School of Six Strings reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. You will be notified of any significant changes in advance.
